So as the 2025 season comes to an end, congratulations to Oxford United 50+, Oxford Rovers 60+ and Abingdon Almost Athletic 70+ for winning their respective divisions yet again and all retaining their titles.

A big 'thank you' must go out to all of our referees - be they our 'regulars' or individuals who stepped into the breach at the last moment to ensure our matches went ahead. It is genuinely hoped that Oxfordshire FA get a Walking Football Referees Course up and running over the winter, so that we can potentially have some additional 'home-grown' referees for the new season.

Thanks also to all the clubs, teams and individual players for taking part in 2025.

10 of our 13 clubs have now received FA Accreditation (some at 2-Star level) - this means that the league is edging even closer to having enough accredited clubs to allow the league itself to also get accreditation.

The committee will now be taking a very short well earn breather before getting stuck into plans for the league for 2026 and beyond - Watch this space!

In the meantime - some comments and reviews from a few of the clubs.....

"First class organisation in a season with many operational issues. Thanks and well done, for delivering a well run football experience" - Banbury Matureitans

"On behalf of Oxford Rovers Over 60's, we would like to thank the organisers and the other clubs for providing a great season of walking football. . We really like and appreciate this league.."

Chalgrove Cavaliers: "The Over 60’s is a wonderful league to be in, with the majority of teams playing in the right spirit, with huge smiles on their faces. A big thank you to the organisers and referees for giving us all the opportunity to play. It's great to see all the teams improving season by season, to the stage where the minnows can sometimes challenge the giants. Congratulations to champions Oxford Rovers, and to Charlbury for topping last weekend's tournament. Oh, and to us for winning the County Cup - no-one was more surprised than we were!"

MK Irish: "A big thank you to all the teams, referees and organising committee that worked hard throughout the season to get us all playing the game we love"
